A couple of days ago while exploring the vast region of Domain, I came across some interesting sites that I thought I’d share with you all. A few systems away from my home station, I stumbled across an anomaly that took some time to triangulate with standard probes. The effort was worth it though. I was able to locate a couple of pirate hideouts that I needed to stay away from while in my exploration ship but then the reward, a wormhole. My mind wandered through the possibilities of what could be on the other side. Much like the real world, the unknown represented the various outcomes that our decisions in real life present to us and so I braced for the unknown and headed deeper into the expanse. Unfortunately, this time did not reveal any beautiful anomalies or scenic environments. Just more rocks and gas clouds. Perhaps next time.

However, the trip home was eventful. A rare group of border ore asteroids showed up near the station. I alerted members of my new corporation and out we set to besiege the ore. Nothing could prepare us for what we would stumble upon thanks to recent updates within Eve Online. Besides the normal rocks, the scanners picked up Mordunium, something I had never seen before. The size of the belt was massive! It took us quite a long time to clear the belt; however, the amount of minerals obtained from this belt made everyone a fortune!

For those of you that do not know, CCP recently modified where Medium Mordunium deposits may appear and the amount of ore that can be processed from them. The deposits may now sometimes appear in 0.5 Security systems which is how my crew stumbled upon this anomaly. This change was meant to help ease the scarcity of Pyerite minerals that occurred with a previous update that made it cheaper to construct battleships and capitals. While I am sad to see that profits for mining groups may dip slightly, I’m happy to see that economy is be managed to allow for easier ship construction so that we can all get out to the fun stuff, faster. Have fun and fly safe, capsuleers.
